My name is Daryl Hooke and I'm a resident of Paradise Beach (Vic.) Australia. This site is my pictorial introduction to other aviation enthusiasts.  It’s also to take a glimpse at my Jabiru SPT-3300 which I built here in Paradise Beach and is based at West Sale Airfield. 

My aviation life began in 1980 when I was introduced to gliding by a work colleague. I progressed through the gliding movement to be an airworthiness inspector and maintenance engineer, Chief Flying Instructor of the Grampians Soaring Club and the Wimmera Soaring Club, National Gliding School Instructor and Tug Pilot.  I am the holder of an FAI Gold 'C' with one Diamond.  During my life as a glider pilot I flew 30 types of sailplanes - from the Australian built Arrow through to the sleek German ASH-25. 

In 1995 I obtained my private pilot licence collecting tail dragger, tug pilot, aerobatic, low level aerobatic and constant speed endorsements along the way. 

I have a liking for flying aerobatics culminating in winning the Victorian State Championships (Basic) in 1998.  After winning the championship, I hung up my competitive aerobatic wings due to the high cost involved.
